This week will be our final hurrah with work before the holidays...so, please put in one final strong effort this week by reviewing with your child for our upcoming Social Studies test and Math Retest (only those notified).

I will be sending home the social studies duo tangs tonight for your review. This is what the students should review...
Gr. 2 -
- Name the 5 oceans and 7 continents and be able to label them correctly on a map
- Name and label the 10 provinces and 3 territories correctly on a map
- Describe and label a compass rose and follow directions of north, south, east and west
- Identify the northern and southern hemispheres on a map/globe
- Identify the equator on a map/globe
- Name the continents located in the northern hemisphere and the ones located in the southern hemisphere
- Explain what a star (capital city) and cirlce (large city) represent on a map
Gr. 3 -
- know the names of the two main groups of First Nations people
- Roles of the Men, Women, girls and boys of First Nations daily living
- Name and explain the roles of the Chiefs
- Name and describe the games the First Nations children played
- Describe "push" and "pull" factors
- Explain the process of making pemmican
- describe the house and surrounding area where the First Nations lived
- Describe how the First Nations used the land to live
- Explain all of the ways the First Nations helped the Early Settlers adapt to the land
